Chipin - Service dog harness

Description

This is my Duncan! He's sporting his new harness that was built for balance assistance. This is the bridgeport double strap mobility assistance harness.

I'd heard a lot of negative things about the bridgeport harnesses, but I wanted to try it out. As for getting it on and off of him, its a bit of effort and this harness is HEAVY! I'd read some reviews that said their dogs had gotten hurt from it around their sternum area. With inspection, I can see how some dogs would get pain from that.

Duncan is not for full stability support, he's just to keep me standing upright and not walking around as if I were drunk. >.<

The nice thing about the weight of the harness though, is that he is so high energy, that this will help tucker him out a bit sooner, which in turn will make things easier in regards to his focus if I'm unable to exercise him before taking him to "work".

The description for this harness on Bridgeport's website is very vague and not very straight forward, but there is a D-ring on the back of the harness behind the handle.

The chest plate has orange reflectors and the harness as a whole is very adjustable as to where you want everything to sit on the dog.

Another nice thing is that the handle does NOT fold down. I can see where some people would want that capability with a larger dog, but for a relatively smaller dog like Duncan, this is very nice and easy to grab at and know that it will be reliable.

So until further notice, the chipin page for the custom harness will be closed. The only reason I would need to re-open the chipin page is if this harness proves to be painful on him.

I hope it wont be painful for your dog, but it is good to hear that you have a new harness :D
